Bar Convivium Portland, OR
In a City where most places cater to either Pearl goers or Portland hipsters, it is nice encounter a normal, laid back bar such as Bar Convivium that focus on good drinks and food without attitude. The staff was very friendly, the place is clean, non-smoking and there are plenty of good options on the menu for meat eaters and vegetarians. Other than the hard to remember name, loved it!

You pretty much have to be drunk already to go here unless you fully appreciate the dive bar atmosphere and already have lung cancer. BTW, lemon drop shot = straight vodka and a lemon on the side. Learned that one the hard way.

I haven't been to DF for happy hour, but went for lunch and dinner The food was good, but overpriced for what it was (as should be expected for the Pearl location). If you want better food, you should go to Nuestra Cocina on the more upscale side and La Calaca Comelona for a more casual atmosphere.

Jake's Grill is pretty cozy, w/ great food specials and the even though the drinks aren't on happy hour, they are very tasty. The mango white is a favorite. The bar can be rather smoky. The desserts are great as well. Try the dessert sampler.

Although it doesn't appear this way from the outside, the Leaky Roof is a cozy little restaurant and bar. Great food.

The crowd here is generally professionals catching a drink after work or staying in the hotel. The happy hour food choices and quality make Pazzo a reliable downtown happy hour. The bar area was recently remodeled and there is a large flat screen tv if you care to watch a game. I reccomend the the brick oven pizza. The service can be hit or miss. Smoking is allowed, but it's usually not too bad.

You can do better than happy hour at the daily grill. If drink specials aren't offered for happy hour, then the food choice and quality better be good. Unfortunately, the food here is lack luster too.

This is on the main floor of the Embassy Suites hotel. This is one of the best downtown happy hours for food, but there is a minimum drink purchase required and not drink specials.

Mixed opinions on this place. Had a really bad experience with a rude waiter one visit and a somewhat pleasant dining experience the next time. Mixed service experience aside, the atmosphere and food is nice.

On Deck Sports Bar and Grill Portland, OR
A little foo foo for a sports bar, but that's to be expected in the Pearl. A good place to go during the summer, but they don't always have enough servers to make good use out of the full deck so the service can be a little slow.
