30 Happy Hour Points

New Old Lompoc, The Portland, OR

Great place- large selection of beers (I don't drink beer though so I cannot vouch as to their quality). The back patio is large and jammed with people on sunny days, so get there EARLY if you want service- they get crazy and can be understaffed...

Blue Monk Portland, OR

Blue Monk is wonderful for happy hour! When I went, service was impeccable(granted we were 3 of the 10 people in the bar, but still...), and the drinks were DELICIOUS! Reasonably priced, very laid back atmosphere that was intimate around the edges and open in the middle. Apparently they often have live music, but it wasn't happening the time we were there.

Slow Bar Portland, OR

Slow bar was a pretty relaxed hangout. Went there on a Friday at 5pm and there were still a few seats available. Service was friendly- they screwed up our order and adapted fairly readily. The food choices are limited, but were tasty. I like my salads large and full of dressing- mine was neither. The happy hour personal pizza is somewhat small for a man of my size. Well-poured tequila sunrise though :)

Old Town Pizza Portland, OR

Old Town Pizza is a great place to stop over at during a late-night in old town or even downtown. I went there and had an extremely friendly bartender, was served very quickly, great drinks, and an unbelievable $1 a slice pizza on a Friday night! I would highly recommend it.

21st Ave. Bar & Grill Portland, OR

Note: Smoking allowed in the bar, Wednesday the drink specials end at 6pm...(unless the bartender didn't know what they were doing) be advised. Smallish bar, large restaurant area. Patio was closed, but supposedly is very nice during nicer weather.

Voodoo Lounge Portland, OR

This is clearly a nighttime place. I went in for a drink around 6:20pm, and there was one other person in there besides me. No problem- faster service! If you like fruity, tropical drinks, this is a no-brainer. I didn't have any food, but there are 10-15 really decent mixed drinks (not just wells, but actual concoctions) that are only 3 bucks! Yummy!
