923 Happy Hour Points

Tucci Lake Oswego, OR

I haven't been to Tucci's happy hour, but the dinner I had there last night was great. My fillet Mignon was excellent, as was the dessert. They have a large Italian wine selection too.
09-Oct-08

Leisure Public House Portland, OR

An interesting beer selection, good food, and a concrete ping pong table make Leisure the kind of place you should check out at least once.
14-Sep-08

Tanuki Izakaya Portland, OR

ignore this, I'll delete it manually. Just testing things out.
01-Sep-08

Kincaid's Fish, Chop & Steak House Portland, OR

I stopped by Kincaid's tonight for some happy hour food and drink.. my margarita was very good and the teriyaki tenderloin bytes were excellent. Staff was courteous and attentive. I'll be coming back for sure.
19-Aug-08

Radio Room Portland, OR

I haven't been to the Radio Room for happy hour yet, but did go for a dinner as part of a party last night. There were at least ten of us, and given that this is a new establishment, the service was a bit slow and some dishes were screwed up. However, both the drinks and the food were very good and the wait staff was very courteous, so I'm confident Radio Room will be a great restaurant in the coming months as they iron out their current kinks.
06-Aug-08

Tugboat Brewing Company Portland, OR

If you go to Tugboat, make sure to try one of their own beers because it will definitely be one you won't forget. But not because it's good.. because you will wonder how it is actually possible to create beer so bad. Seriously, my first batch of home brew was ten times better than their beer. I was hoping it was just a bad batch, but if it was, they've been on the same batch for almost two years now (or maybe that's the problem.. it's two years old!). I'm not exaggerating at all when I say that the three worst beers I've ever had were the last three I had at Tugboat. It's a real shame too, since the place is cool and they have good prices. It's a really good thing they carry guest beers on tap. I recommend skipping straight to those.
28-May-08

Ringside Steakhouse Portland, OR

Wow, I can't believe I had never been to Ringside before last night. It's the best happy hour food deal I've had to date. The $2.25 steak bites are phenomenal.
04-Apr-08

Someday Lounge Portland, OR

The Someday Lounge has some great beers and great food for good prices. The bean dip and chips are very good.. I expected the same old bean dip, but this stuff is great.
04-Apr-08

Blitz Bar Portland, OR

I went to Blitz last night to watch the Celtics beat the Pistons. My waitress was really good and got the game on a TV right in front of where I was sitting. The beers were $3 for anything on tap.. I don't remember them having this deal before, so maybe it's rather new. The French dip sandwich was also very good.
07-Mar-08

Bar Convivium Portland, OR

I stopped by Bar Convivium this evening for happy hour.. it's a great deal! I had two very good chicken tacos for a total of $2.25 along with a 25%-off beer. They also have board games placed throughout the bar, including Scrabble, chess, Chinese checkers, dominoes, Yahtzee, backgammon, and even a connect four set. Wednesday night is bingo night.
12-Feb-08

McCormick and Schmick's Portland, OR

I had the McCormick and Schmick's happy hour burger a few days ago.. wow, what a deal. $2 gets you a big, high-quality burger and a bunch of fries. Of course, the drink prices aren't discounted, so you'll end up paying there..
13-Jan-08

Berbati's Portland, OR

I have to agree that the New Castle at Berbati's is very good. I don't know why, but it sure tasted better than the usual to me. Also, at $2 for any pint, Berbati's has one of the best beer deals around.
18-Dec-07

Kenny & Zuke's Portland, OR

I stopped by Kenny and Zuke's last night around 11:45, just in time for happy hour. What an awesome place. Obviously the pastrami sandwich is incredible, but be sure to try the pastrami burger as well. It should be no surprise that taking one awesome thing like a burger and adding another awesome thing like pastrami yields an awesome creation.
16-Dec-07

Green Dragon Portland, OR

I just got back from Green Dragon.. this place looks very promising! It has a very relaxed, warehouse feel to it, a great beer selection, and will soon have their own beers and site-distilled spirits. Can't wait to try the gin.
06-Oct-07

Buffalo Gap Portland, OR

The $2.95 food menu at Buffalo Gap is a great deal. I had some tasty pork tacos.. the others with me raved about the fish tacos as well.
03-Oct-07

On Deck Sports Bar and Grill Portland, OR

I gave On Deck another chance a few days ago and found that the happy hour (which was served outside, not just inside) is much better than it used to be. I got a pretty good pulled pork sandwich for $3 and a small pizza for $4, which was decent enough for the price. If the place is busy you'll probably find the service to be slow, especially if you sit outside. I still don't like the way the bar inside is set up with only a few places to sit where you can actually see a TV without straining your neck, but it's not too bad. Sure gets packed during Oregon football games and NCAA tournament, so they must be doing something right.
09-Sep-07

Gravy Portland, OR

I was surprised to find that Gravy has a happy hour--let alone pool, pinball, and arcade games--because I thought it was just a breakfast place. I missed happy hour, but the dinner food was good. The breakfast I had there a few months ago was gigantic, very tasty, and reasonably priced.
02-Aug-07

Teardrop Lounge Portland, OR

I tried a cocktail of the day at Teardrop and it was damn good. Co-owner Daniel is passionate about making drinks and seems to value the quality of his drinks more than anyone. Definitely worth a visit!
01-Aug-07

Amber Seattle, WA

Amber's happy hour was surprisingly good. The pizza was pretty good and cheap, and the ribs were definitely ok for the money. Nothing spectacular, but the price was right.
20-Jul-07

Andina Portland, OR

The margaritas at Andina's happy hour are phenomenal. I'm sure it depends on the bartender, but the three I had a few nights ago were the best I remember. They use a good tequila and mix them just right. They are $5 during happy hour, which is high for a happy hour, but still worth the money. The chicken skewers were quite good as well.
16-Jul-07

Stumbling Monk Seattle, WA

It would be difficult to beat the combination of awesome beer supply, laid-back atmosphere, and great prices at Stumbling Monk. The beer selection is almost entirely Belgian styles, which was a refreshing change from the standard beer lineup.
13-Jul-07

Fire on the Mountain Portland, OR

Fire on the Mountain has the best wings in Portland, bar none. The traditional sauce is of course excellent, but they have a variety of other sauces to choose from as well, including a very tasty spicy peanut sauce.
04-Jun-07

Clay's Smokehouse Grill Portland, OR

Clay's has the best barbecue I've had yet in Portland. The brisket plate was awesome.. the meat was very tender and flavorful but not fatty. The barbecue sauce was awesome as well, although at a place like this, you really don't need any sauce at all. The home fries with garlic sauce were great as well.
25-May-07

Uptown Silver Dollar Portland, OR

This is the replacement of Sammy's Restaurant and Bar. It's still owned by Sammy. I had a good chicken quesadilla and a PBR for less than $5.
21-Apr-07

Oliver Twisted Portland, OR

Oliver Twisted is definitely worth the visit. They have a nice list of house cocktails, including a good amaretto Manhattan. The bruschetta and mozzarella sticks were very good as well. And you have to try their excellent Thai barbecue pizza.
01-Mar-07

Dragonfish Portland, OR

The happy hour ribs are very good, the sake is good and cheap, and the caramel ginger chicken is awesome.
09-Jan-07

North 45 Portland, OR

North 45 has a great setup, great service, and the burger was among the best I've had in a long time. The fries are awesome as well, and everyone should try the Moscow Mule drink.
03-Jan-07

Green Room, The Portland, OR

The Green Room is one of my favorite places to get some really good barbecue (I especially like the brisket sandwich and the ribs, both of which are very reasonably priced), drink a beer, and listen to some live music. They have Karaoke on Sundays, open mic on Mondays, a Portland Songwriter Showcase on Tuesdays, and Blues on Thursdays. The other days have live music as well.
14-Dec-06

SoLo Portland, OR

SoLo just keeps getting better. When they first opened I had my doubts that a small, hard-to-find restaurant and bar underneath OfficeMax would be successful, especially with On Deck in the same building. But SoLo thrived in the summer with their frequent live music on the patio (which is in front of OfficeMax, another reason I thought SoLo might have some trouble), unique food selection, and great happy hour drink deals. On a Friday or Saturday night, they gather quite a crowd of patrons for such a small place, making it a fun place to get a drink and meet people. UPDATE: beware of the $7 draft pints. Yes, they charge as much as a baseball game for a beer, at least on Friday night.
10-Dec-06

Leaky Roof Global Bistro Portland, OR

The Leaky Roof has great food, great service, and they made me one of the best Manhattans I've had in a while.
10-Dec-06

New Old Lompoc, The Portland, OR

The New Old Lompoc has wide variety of excellent beer, including some cask-conditioned gems. They always seem to have several seasonal beers to try, none of which have disappointed me. Their fries are great as well, and the pulled pork sandwich is worth trying.
06-Dec-06

Uptown Billiards Club Portland, OR

I like Uptown Billiards.. it's got a great atmosphere and nice pool tables. However, I had the worst gimlet I've never had there, so I wouldn't get any well gin drinks.
25-Nov-06

Slabtown Portland, OR

If you want some cheap, tasty food and stiff drinks, Slabtown's happy hour is for you.
25-Nov-06

Lucky Labrador Beer Hall Portland, OR

It's practically happy hour all day, every day at the Lucky Lab. I think they have the best beer in Portland (and that's saying a lot), good prices, and a great atmosphere (I love the long wooden tables.. gives it a real beer hall feel). On Tuesdays you get an even better deal. They also fill growlers and sell their beers by the bottle at the brewery.
24-Oct-06

Henry's 12th Street Tavern Portland, OR

Henry's has one of the best food happy hours in the area. Their mac 'n cheese, California rolls, and pizza are all great and around $2 or $3 each. It's also worth mentioning that they have well over 100 beers on tap, so if you're looking for something other than the usual handful of microbrews you find at most bars in Portland, Henry's certainly won't disappoint.
23-Oct-06

BridgePort Brewery Portland, OR

The $2.75 cask-conditioned IPA is one of the best beer deals around. There's a big difference between the cask-conditioned and the regular IPA, so be specific when you order.
23-Oct-06

Jimmy Mak's Portland, OR

Jimmy Mak's recently moved across the street to a much nicer building. Their food is very good, they have a good selection of beer, and the jazz is fantastic. The Mel Brown groups that play on week nights are excellent, and the cover charge to get in is around $5.
