I carry a love/hate relationship with Tugboat. I love the atmosphere, the location, and the fact that it's tucked quietly on a small random street of downtown. I hate the fact that the beer is aweful 90% of the time. I catch myself giving the Tugboat another chance every now and then and every time I leave disappointed! Good thing Mary's is around the corner to cheer me up.

Yeah they have some pretty fair beers, but the staff aren't friendly or responsive. I feel like we are an inconvenience to their day at work. It's the Green Room or Lucky Lab if I'm in the area.

Kenton Station Portland, OR
Good place to grab a beer from time to time. Owner and staff are very friendly and it carries a neighborhood feel. Food is great and resonably priced. Downfall is lack of drink specials and beer prices seem a little high for a neighborhood bar.

Mock Crest Tavern Portland, OR
Great place to pull up to the bar and have a beer. Staff are great and the atmosphere is cozy. Another great come-as-you-are bar in Portland.
