Happy HoursBeer, Cocktails, Wine, Food:
DescriptionThe happy hour at Red Star includes a large selection of $3-$6 food specials, $3 wine, beer, and well drinks, and $5 specialty cocktails.
Happy hour at Red Star... The food is great and they have plenty of vegetarian menu items which made me want to try it out. The longer HH hours are nice too.
But, I give them 2 stars because they charge extra for non-alcoholic HH drinks. I understand that HH is meant to sell patrons alcoholic beverages, but charging extra for the same drinks WITHOUT the alcohol seems outrageous. Way to penalize the DD even more.
One major reason I go to this place so often is because of how late their Happy Hour goes til. It's a classy enough place to go with family or co-workers, but the bar area is small, so there may be a wait for a table. The happy hour drinks are decently priced, and the HH food is above average. I once got a full dinner there and was extremely disappointed, so I recommend sticking to the snacks and drinks.
Great location off both max lines. Upscale but comfortable interior, good service, good selections of beers, wines, whiskeys, etc. Happy hour food menu is very limited and could be improved, though the quality of its contents is solid.
Staff was attentive from beginning to end. Food and drink quality and variety were excellent. A++ Staff make the difference. Highly recommended.
Truffle oil fries were good, but the last time I went they tasted like plain old fries. Their Red Star signature drink is a steal during Happy Hour at $5. Depending on what time you go, you might not get a place to sit.
Red Star has amazing truffle oil french fries! Their bartenders have been inconsistent in the past. The quality of the ingredients and the giant comfy booths are their best assets.
