03-Jun-11My boyfriend and I visited this bar when we stayed at Hotel Deluxe and really enjoyed the experience. The bartender made me a Spanish coffee that was delicious despite how strong it was.
This bar has an upscale but laid back vibe. I like it dark, but this place was really dark inside, especially in the back.
20-Apr-10Nice! One of the most unique spaces in Portland. Dim with classy wood (yes, the drift kind) on the walls. Typically a mix of upscale hotel guests and locals in-the-know. Everyone girl I've taken (under 30) is especially impressed.
French onion soup
Burger with Pomme Frites
Do it!
23-Jun-07The Driftwood Room manager Terry is the best barkeep in town. On my 3rd trip there he said, "The usual?" and I replied "Yep" and had the right order up without prompting him anymore. I was amazed. Friendly, Knowledgeable, Great Service. Great Happy Hour Food, recommended. Very dark, only candle-lit...so take ugly dates there!
12-Jun-07If it were a competition for the darkest bar, the Driftwood Room would be world champion. Why should I complain? Everyone looks spectacular in this cavern.
