This is simply a great bar. Plenty of seating, Tons of TVs, Pool Tables, Darts, Pinball, Big Buck Hunter, Nice selection of beers, Friendly Staff, Priced right. The 'Thon is where its at.

I love going to Marathon to play some pinball. The bartenders are friendly, the beer is cheap and they have free popcorn. The downside is that it is smokey.

The Marathon Taverna is actually owned by a Greek gentleman, and the place is a true, classic, Portland dive bar. Go visit to see what Portland used to be like.

Marathon is a true bar with a perfect mixture of dive and clientele that you would actually talk to. The pool tables only strengthen its claim.
