No surprise here. This restaurant chain has been around long enough and has established itself as a first class dining experience. A friend and myself visited the day after Christmas, ‘07. (Next to Lloyd Center)
We entered the bar area and found plenty of seating. We thought maybe this was normal until we spoke to the General Manager ‘Amy’ who explained that it was rarely as it seemed and that the lack of patrons probably stemmed from the fact that many people were on vacation, etc.
NOTE: (I don't know if there was smoking, but I did not notice any smoking or ashtrays.)
Now the stuff you want to know. The happy hour menu is extensive! A great number and variety of mouthwatering seafood dishes! Our waiter, Jerry was knowledgeable and friendly. My friend ordered the Alaskan Cod Fish & Chips at ($2.95). There was 3 pieces of fish and a small amount of fries. However, my friend told me that they were excellent and well worth the cost!
I however, splurged and ordered the Clam Chowder, ($1.95) the New Orleans Style Prawns, ($3.95) and Chicken & Andouille Sausage Gumbo at ($2.95). The prawns at $3.95 are the most expensive menu item! (I mean that in a good way.) The clam chowder was a little thin for my liking but had nice clams and it was actually a bowl, not a cup, a great deal for clam chowder! My prawns came in a dish of delicious cream like, tomato basil sauce, that had a little kick. There were 5 prawns only, but they were fresh and I ask for a spoon rather then send the cream sauce away. Yum. The most expensive item but delicious! My gumbo was excellent. The usual rice, chicken, bell peppers, etc. accompanied by the tasty sausage. Another home run in the value and taste categories.
The bar was clean the restrooms fabulous, (details). Some patrons sitting next to us gave the sushi a thumbs up. Which you might expect since there is a small sushi bar between the regular bar and the restaurant. Overall, I give this experience full 5 stars. I will return.
