09-Jun-09One of my favorite bars in Portland! Being a sports fan, going to Riley's at Happy Hour is a huge score because most of the East coast games are on from 4pm-7pm. This is a perfect window to take advantage of the beer selection and food for a few bucks less. Everything I have had on the menu has been delicious ... but the fries are still the must have for me. Riley's is one of the places to go for watching the big game or shootin some pool with friends.

18-Jan-09Life of Riley's combination of great beer list and good happy hour price (currently $3 for a pint) makes it one of the best beer happy hours around. The happy hour food menu is pretty good too. I really like the spicy Italian sandwich on their regular menu. The upstairs was recently updated with some nice new booths as well.

10-Feb-08Life of Riley has slowly turned itself into a dependable tavern. The food has increasingly improved and the beer selection always carries a few surprises. It may not be the cheapest, but it is a reliable and enjoyable bar.

24-Oct-06When Life of Riley first opened, I was skeptical. They were offering poor service and a boring menu in a non-descript setting. They have since transformed themselves into a legitimate bar. In particular, the downstairs part of the bar offers pool, darts, shuffleboard, and an extensive beer selection at reasonable prices. If you are looking for a place where a group of friends can meet up for a happy hour, look no further than the Life of Riley. On Sundays, they offer free pool.

22-Feb-07They are way slow, especially with any sort of big group. But nice drinks, and one of the better burgers in town, and very tasty fried calamari (with peppers mixed in), too.
