27-Oct-09Plainly stated, I have yet to get a less-than-perfect cocktail from these pros. I trust them in all things saucy. That said, I limit my visitations, lest I'm forced to skimp on other areas of my budget, such as shelter or food. I will come around more often for their happy hour though, for at least I feel like I'm Sally the Saver. Ok, $1-$3 may not be enough to pat myself on the back, but did I mention the quality of their drinks?! They are heavenly.

20-Feb-09Not being one to frequent the Pearl often, we went to Teardrop on a weekend night for a drink. We asked the bartender what we might order and he gave little to no help. We ordered some of the more obscure drinks on the menu and none of us liked our drinks. Turns out we should have ordered the less fancy drinks to get a delicious drink. I think it's a bit pretentious, and felt the bartender just wanted us gone.

01-Aug-07I tried a cocktail of the day at Teardrop and it was damn good. Co-owner Daniel is passionate about making drinks and seems to value the quality of his drinks more than anyone. Definitely worth a visit!

18-Aug-07The Teardrop Lounge is by far the most legitimate place for a cocktail in all of Portland. The owners personally tend the bar and are serious about creating the perfect drink. All drinks are made from scratch with fresh ingredients by including even the tonic water, ginger beer, bitters, and infusions to name a few.
I stopped by during happy hour and was surprised to find that the daily drink specials were as good if not better than their more expensive counterparts. The owners of the Teardrop stay true to the cocktail as their drink menu doesn't just list off the standard vodka based garbage that everyone else tries to push these days. Instead their menu includes many unique and complex drinks that are beyond the status quo.
If you are interested in mixology or just want an exceptional drink, this place is for you.

11-Aug-07We went to Happy Hour at Teardrop on Wednesday - it was great. The classic cocktail special was based on the Hemingway. Daniel and Ted made their own kaffir lime and white peppercorn syrup and mixed it with vodka and grapefruit juice. YUM. Of course, we had a couple of those and then ended the evening with DeeCee's Fuegos - scotch, pomegranate molasses,burnt orange and carpano antica formula vermouth - one of my personal favorites.
The service and drinks were spot on. This could be my favorite HH... EVER.
